Geo Mapping For Good at PlaNetwork SF, 02-02-2006

January 26th, 2006 by Jo

Rich is curating a geo-hacking themed evening event for PlaNetwork, a kind of optimistic theory organisation who run regular conferences in the Bay Area, and sometimes in NYC, with a social-environmental-change angle. It’s on Sunday Feb 2nd 2006 at 111 Townsend Street in SF.

The event that Rich has been putting together is called GEO MAPPING FOR GOOD!!!!. I especially love the lavish and emphatic use of punctation in this context. The IFTF’s Mike Liebhold is speaking there too. The talks all look angled towards “green” uses of geospatial technology and data; techniques for looking after our surroundings better, rather than filling them with things that are for sale, or extracting things to sell from them; and that sounds great.

i’m sure that at some point Rich will pile in and talk a little about where he’s going with this, and offer pointers to the drives in his thought processes. But that shouldn’t stop anyone from going to PlaNetwork to see him in visionary mode in person.
